Frequently Asked Questions
What is an Online Credit Union?
While banks (including online banks) are public, profit-driven companies designed to make money for shareholders, online credit unions are not-for-profit, cooperative financial institutions operated by members and based entirely on the web.
In an online credit union like Quorum, profits are returned to members in the form of low fees for financial products and services. A shared sense of community provides members with peace of mind and a connection to something larger than themselves, as well as loyalty and service to other members.
Online credit unions are carefully regulated and are a safe place to store your money. Just like the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) insures banks, the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) insures credit unions.
What is the difference between saving and investing?
“Saving” commonly refers to putting money in an interest-bearing account such as a savings account, checking account or term account (or certificate of deposit/CDs) administered by a financial institution and insured against failure of the financial institution by either the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. (FDIC) for banks, or the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) for credit unions, up to the maximum allowed by law. When you invest money, you are buying assets you hope may increase in value at a higher return than you would receive through a savings account. Investments tend to be used for longer term financial goals. Some investments include certain guarantees, and some may decrease in value. To ensure you make the right investment for you, speak with a financial advisor.
What are the fees and commissions associated with Quorum Wealth Management?
Please refer to the prospectus of each individual investment. Here you will find annual operating expenses which include management, marketing and distribution fees as well as other expenses such as administrative services. Our advisors are here to help you understand all aspects of your investment.
