Purchase, NY, June 23, 2023 – Quorum Federal Credit Union, a forward-thinking, technology-based online credit union serving members across the U.S., has been named One of the Best Workplaces in New York by Fortune Media. Quorum was eligible for the honor based on its earlier Great Place to Work Certification™.
To determine the Fortune Best Workplaces in New York™ List, Great Place To Work collected more than 170,000 confidential survey responses from employees at eligible companies. Via the Trust Index™ Survey, employees shared honest feedback about their experience by responding to 60 statements about the employee experience and answering two open-ended questions.
“We’re delighted to be named one of the best workplaces in New York by Fortune, following our certification with Great Place to Work®,” said President and CEO Jeffrey Pachter. “We know that our employees are our most valuable asset, and that happy and fulfilled employees translate into better things for Quorum and its members: better service, better experience, and more innovation. Hearing such a high percentage of surveyed employees 1) love what they do and where they work, 2) felt welcome when joining, and 3) feel like they can be themselves here, is a great confirmation that we’re fostering the environment we’re after.
“And while we’re proud to have won this New York honor and are headquartered in New York,” continued Pachter, “we’re also proud to have an almost entirely remote workforce. Our employees love the flexibility remote work provides, and it also gives them the best perspective to serve our members (who are also based nationwide, and bank remotely using our highly-rated online and mobile banking services).”
Fortune’s Best Workplaces in New York list is highly competitive. Survey responses reflect a comprehensive picture of the workplace experience. Honorees were selected based on their ability to offer positive outcomes for employees regardless of job role, race, gender, sexual orientation, work status, or other demographic identifier.
To be eligible for Fortune’s list, companies must be Great Place To Work Certified™, have at least 10 U.S. employees, and be headquartered in the New York region.
“Fortune congratulates the Best Workplaces in New York,” says Fortune Editor-in-Chief Alyson Shontell. “In a challenging economy, these companies have demonstrated the increasing value of ensuring that employees feel valued.”
Quorum benefits are continuously evaluated and evolved to remain competitive. The latest a Health & Wellness program, which offers employees up to $100 a month to spend on eligible expenses like gym memberships and fitness classes, massage therapy/spa services, and meal kit deliveries. Earlier in 2023, a Volunteer Time Off (VTO) policy was launched, allowing all in-office, hybrid and fully remote workers to give back to their community during work hours while still getting paid. This adds to the current progressive time-off policy, with paid personal time, birthday time, company-observed holiday time offered, as well as a purchase and sell-back program to help an employee right-size the amount of time they need for the year.
Other Quorum employee benefits include: tuition reimbursement and a bonus/commission plan that reward all for contributing to the company’s success, a flexible work schedule (including a hybrid work model and four-day work-week), a 401k plan (with company match dollar for dollar up to 6 percent), a Health Reimbursement Account that assists employees with costs associated with the company’s medical plan, like deductibles and co-insurance, and sizable employee discounts (including mortgage discounts).
In addition to top benefits, Senior Leadership empowers employees to evolve along with the financial services industry. The need to change, transform and prepare for the future is a core component of what Quorum calls U.F.O.s (Unwavering Future Objectives) and is ingrained in all employee action.
